LAVOIE’s vision of “Japanese hospitality”
“Omotenashi”, meaning hospitality in Japanese, has been our main theme of LAVOIE. We want customers to feel the Japanese hospitality, even in your bath time, and have a great time while recovering from the day’s fatigue.
We used Japanese ingredients that have been popular in Japan for a long time to create a product that international customers would feel “I‘m glad I came to Japan” and customers from Japan would think “I am glad I was born in Japan.”
The fragrances are created by a renowned French perfumer with the image of Japanese fragrances in mind.
marie-thé is a global brand made in Japan that is welcomed not only by Japanese customers but also by customers from abroad.
Collaboration of Japanese artisanal skills and French sensibility
There is what the Japanese call “Japanese quality” and what the Europeans and Asians call “Japan’s finest”. LAVOIE’s top-of-the-line Japanese beauty product series was born from the desire to respond to both images- that is “marie-thé”.
Origin of the brand name
The Catholic female name Marie-Thérèse’s nickname is marie-thé. Marie is one of the most popular female names in the world. When written in hiragana, the name becomes “まりて”, which sounds similar to “Temari” (meaning traditional Japanese handball) and gives an impression of soft harmony.
“Thé” is also the French word for “tea”. With green tea as the main fragrance of the product, we used an accent on the e to represent the image of the tea leaves.
